The traditional weekend winter course we play here at the South County is a 12 hole course. This is for the regular competitions, winter league competitions and casual golf. Due to the daylight availability, we want to give the opportunity to as many members as possible to get out and play. And importantly, it also helps to protect some of our greens.
After all the rain and snow over the last couple of months however, and how exceptionally well the course has handled it, we have now been given the opportunity to play 18 holes on Saturdays, thanks to Jim Mallick, our Head Green keeper, who has done such a magnificent job with the course.
Jim will continuously monitor the conditions of the course and will make the daily decision as to what is available to play; taking into account all weather conditions etc and Jim's decision will be final.
