Club Charter

Preamble

• We are joined in a common determination to work for a golf club in which all have the right and ability to take an active part in the political, social and economic structures which affect our club.
• We are committed to the realisation of a club where the rights of all members, and staff are recognised.
• We are working for a cooperative club which meets the needs of that club and all its members by linking with others to develop and support initiatives consistent with the following.

Our Vision is that

• The South County will become recognised as one of the finest members clubs in the country.
• The South County will have mutually beneficial relations with all clubs within the ILGU /GUI control.
• All decision making will be made by the duly elected authority, with the best interests of the membership as their guiding principle
• The main goal of our economic planning is that the club becomes financially self sufficient, so that all future profits may be directed toward the further development of the facility.
• All members will show the appropriate level of respect toward each other, the staff, and the facility itself.
• We will value cooperation and caring above greed and competition. We will foster awareness within the membership in order for the club to develop to its true potential.
• All members will have equal access to and share power in all personal, social, and economic aspects of the club.
• All members and visitors will be free from discrimination and prejudice.
• Every member will have the right to contribute to the common good and to the development of their membership through meaningful, non- exploitative work.

We commit ourselves to

• Establishing The South County as a premier golfing facility.
• Fostering values that will transform the club into a club that operates on a non-sexist, non-racist, and non-hierarchical basis.
• Developing and using economic models that respect the environment, conserve rescources and maximise the creative capacities of people.
