New
Course Ranger Starts April 5th.
In an effort to enhance the enjoyment of playing your golf,
it has been decided to employ a course ranger at weekends.
The objective of the ranger is to assist all golfers to
get around the golf course safely and within a reasonable
timescale. Members are requested to turn up in good time
to check in, prepare themselves for the 1st tee and cooperate
fully with any instruction from the ranger. Slow play is
not acceptable and consistent offenders will be sanctioned
or asked to leave the course. Please remember your place
on the course and avoid slow play at all times.

Revised booking procedure in the South County Golf
Club
The
online booking in SCGC was introduced early February this
year, and we believe it is safe to say that so far it has
been a great success. However, we have gained some experiences
that drive the need for some changes to the procedures communicated
previous to the introduction of the Brsgolf system.
The
following applies to both completion and non competition
member’s tee times.
Late cancellations on the night before the day of competition
lead to open slots – hence 3 balls and in some cases
2 balls are out on the course. Needless to say, with a majority
of 4 balls out on the course a 3 ball will find pace of
play quite slow. Late cancellations also prevent members
who want to play from booking, because of very late opportunity
to book online.
In
order to rectify this situation the following new booking
procedures will be introduced from 15th of March 2008.
·
The Online Booking facility will be open to Members until
2pm the day before the day of play. (As an example, 2 pm
on Friday for Saturdays competition) .
·
The only way to cancel or change a booking after that time
for the next day’s play, will be to ring the Pro Shop
in the Club.
·
The Pro Shop will operate a ‘first come first served’
waiting list for people who cannot get onto the sheet at
their desired tee time interval. To get onto this waiting
list, Members should ring the Pro Shop.
·
After 2 pm on the day before a competition, the Pro Shop
will fill up idle slots from the waiting list as they become
available on a first come first served principle. The Pro
shop will inform Members on the waiting list by phone as
soon as they are allocated a slot.
·
During the week before a competition, the members themselves
can check the time sheet, and in the event that a cancellation
happens they can put their name down online.
For
the avoidance of doubt, there is no change to the policy
as regards to the booking procedures for Junior members
i.e. they can continue to book from 2 pm on Thursday for
Saturday’s competition, 2pm on Friday for Sunday’s
competition, by phoning to the Pro Shop.
