This page will give a regular update on the course maintainance and improvement

April 2008
Sod repairs and drainage work throughout the course has
finished for the spring, further work will continue towards the end of year.
Greenside bunkers have been topped up.
Hollow coring of tees is completed.
Hollow coring of the greens takes place on Sunday evening, the timing of this work
in mid April gives a better chance of recovery as temperatures as a rule are generally higher. Microbial activity is also higher resulting in improved
response from fertilisers and soil amendments.
Fairway sanding will take place on Wednesday 16th. April

We thank members for their patience and as a result of the above maintenance programme we hope to have the course in the best condition possible.

Once again we would appeal to members to take care of our course by repairing pitch marks and replacing fairway divots.

Our new greenkeeper Jim Mallick has started work at the club, Jim previously
worked at Kilkee and Bray golf clubs.

Slow Play: If your lucky to have the honour at the tee, PLAY STRAIGHT AWAY,
mark your fellow-players card after you have played.

March 2008
Tree planting was carried out between the 5th and 6th fairway. These trees were taken from the Coillte plantation.
We recently planted 20 trees of various types around the 13th 14th and 15th. These trees were kindly donated by Hugo Peden and Ken Dumpleton.
Light aeration of the greens has been completed.
Despite the inclement weather drainage work was carried out on some of the mounds
Some sod repairs have been done and will continue for the next two weeks
Pathways are almost finished and will be seeded at the end of the month.
Please remember the importance and obligation of players to repair pitch marks. At this time of the year even short pitch shots will leave an indentation so repair your pitch marks and look out for other pitch marks as it only takes a second and the benifits to the condition of the greens are enormous.
The correct procedure for repairing pitch marks can seen on video in the club

New greenkeeper starts on March 25
